Rendering in 1072 instead of 1080

I am trying to convert my AVCHD video from my Sony video camera into MP4 so that I can sync it to my Ipad. When I try any of the settings in Vegas 11, it saves it in 1072 which my IPad doesn't like when trying to Sync. I believe I need to have it saved in 1080 but I don't know how to alter the settings. Can anyone help with getting as much of the AVCHD quality into an HD file I can play on my IPad?

I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite 11 (PC)

Thanks

Dave

What are you seeing that shows you're rendering at 1072?

When I look at the file in windows explorer it shows the frame height as 1072. Some demos I have used, for example Magix HD, show the frame height as 1080.
