Rendering in chunks

Folks -

Is there a way to:

1) Autmatically create regions of X amount of time (say 5 minutes)
2) Have Vegas render these individual regions?

I'm thinking that after a project has been rendered and during the proofing stage I find something that needs to come out or be changed, I could just mess with the affected section(s) and re-render them.

This could be accomplished with a script. There are already scripts that batch render regions (one of them comes with Vegas 5). So you'd just need a script that generates your 5 minute regions across your project. Or you could just do that part manually. Ask in the scripting forum if something already exists maybe...
