Rendering In Movie 13 Platinum tests

Hi all

I have been doing some tests here

My system is:-

Windows home 7 64 bit
16gig Ram
Intel i7-3770 not overclocked
Amd HD 5700 Video card
Movie 13 platinum 64bit version

I have some files taken on a Panasonic HD AVCHD cam 1920x1080 12510 kbps
of my model railway under construction

I put a clip into movie made 3 cuts and rendered it using both the main concept and Sony AVC options using both CPU and GPU

When I play them on my tv the MC file rendered with CPU is quite jerky with GPU the jerkiness is a lot less. I was surprised to see that I I was thinking CPU should be the better picture

With the Sony AVC AVCHD preset things look a whole lot better on my tv - sharper and smooth motion

I have also had a go with sony AVC with the intel quick sync version and that looks as good to my eyes when Sony AVC is used as the CPU only version but it renders real fast and I mean fast

Just in-case some of you want to see the rendered files I have uploaded them here

flashbacksales.co.uk/test/main_concept internet HD 1080p preset CPU 2m36s.mp4

flashbacksales.co.uk/test/main_concept internet HD 1080p preset GPU 36s.mp4

flashbacksales.co.uk/test/Sony AVC AVCHD 1920 preset CPU 1m37s.m2ts

flashbacksales.co.uk/test/Sony AVC AVCHD 1920 preset GPU 1m24s.m2ts

I did not use youtube for the files as I do not want any changes being made to the files

The file names show the preset used and how long the render took

No quick sync files though as I deleted them by mistake

Any ideas why sony AVC should look so much better than M/C and why GPU is looking better on
M/C than CPU

A mate of mine has offered his Asus GTX 580 for me to try

What differences do you think I will see from the 580 to the 5700

Any ideas or comments would be most welcome
