Rendering into Quicktime

I just set up my own website, and I have all of my videos (all edited with Vegas Video) in RealOne PLayer format. I know a lot of people don't like it, so I want to render to either WMP or Quicktime. WMP isn't really a problem, I get just about the same quality at just about the same file size with WMP as I do with RealOne. But Quicktime always looks like crap. Sometimes I get big digital blocks that cover up half the screen, sometimes the frame rate sucks.
Anyone have a precise configuration they use to render NTSC DV (non-widescreen) into internet Quicktime?

I'm really not an expert at this but...go into "custom settings" and from there, I think you could try 15fps, progressive(fields), 240x180 for size of frame, reduce sound to 32 000 if you want a *little* less bytes in your file...
Selecting "progressive" in the fields is what improved quality the more if my rememberance is good.
Try some testings with just a segment from the timeline and compare, I think it's the best solution.

The way I learned about Quicktime rendering (and it gives excellent quality for only slightly larger downloads in my opinion) was to download some high quality movie trailers from apple.com and duplicate the settings. Its really a good learning experience, and although there is plenty of debate, I still prefer it to .wmv
Most newer machines handle the Sorenson 3 codec well, although 400-700 mhz Windows machines may stutter with it.

I'd go to the Microsoft site and download the Windows Media Encoder, I use it to encode all my web videos and they look a lot better than quicktime, and a lot better than real. Also the Windows Media Encoder seems to give you more options than you get in Vegas.
