Rendering Issues

I'm having major issues in rendering long multi-cam shoots because when Vegas renders, it doesn't ignore any media that may be underneath the clip that it's currently rendering (even though those clips should be ignored). For example, right now I'm trying to render a four camera shoot. Cam 1 on the top track, then Cam 2 underneath it, and so on. Vegas renders extremely slow when rendering clips from Camera 1 just because there are multiple cams/tracks underneath it. For some reason, Vegas doesn't ignore all media underneath the clip it's rendering and it's causing extreme slow downs in the render and then eventually crashes.

I know this was the case for a very long time but it's become much worse for me since shooting in 4K. I'm using the latest version of Vegas 22. The only way I can get long projects to render is if I trim every clip and put them all on the same track (or keep them on different tracks but making sure they don't overlap).

Another way to explain this issue is if I have four tracks on a timeline (with clips on each track) and track 1 is at 100 % opacity, my render will take much, much longer than if there were no clips underneath it.

Is there a way around this or some check box I'm missing to save me from having to trim every clip?

If you use the built-in multicam feature doesn't it leave blank spaces where the unused camera angles are once you expand the tracks back out?

A simple workaround until it's fixed is to mute any events that are under events that do need to be rendered. I'd imagine VP should then ignore those muted events re; rendering.

Just right click events and select mute.

I haven't' used the multicam feature in years (didn't really like it) but if it does leave blank spaces I'll give it a try.

Muting the clips would still be a lot of extra work because I'm using those camera angles often...so it would require splitting the clips and muting the sections I'm not using.
