Rendering movies ends in bsod.

I need help. I have an Intel core 2 quad at 2.83ghz with 4gb of ram running windows 7 64bit. I have run distributed computing projects non stop for weeks on end but for some reason trying to render a movie I can't get past 10% without it throwing the blue screen.

I have tried rendering in avi and avchd and I have also tried doing the upload to youtube option and they all crash.

I just did some searching, is this a fix that I need to perform?

You haven't mentioned which version of Vegas you have. In any case, it is probably a good idea to try the fix in the link that you referred to. If it doesn't help, you can always undo the changes. Good luck!

Try reinstalling VMS. It helped Cin (OhMyGosh) with her problems:

I did the fix and it seemed to work although it almost completed rendering a 1 hour 57 minute video and then errored out but it at least wasn't to a blue screen.

I have VMS 10 platinum pro pack. I am currently trying to get the cuda part working. I reinstalled the latest drivers for my video card which is a nvidia 9800 gt and then uninstalled vms and reinstalled and I don't see the option others have talked about for checking the box to allow for cuda aid in rendering. I am pretty sure I read too that it needs to be in the sony avchd format?
