Hmmmm, crazy. So I'm working on an SD project, bout an hour long with 6 nested chunks put throughout. Should I just render these chunks out to uncompressed .avi first and then pull them into the project? Opinions?
Final destination is DVD

No need to go uncompressed.

Render the 6 nested projects individually to the final DVD format.

Open the big project. Render the sound first.

Using project media tab, replace the 6 nested projects with the 6 rendered DVD files.
(these won't have audio, that's why I recommend you render the audio first)

Save this file as something different like "Project Renderer.veg"

Render to the same final DVD format and Vegas will smart render everything together into one file.

No loss, no need to use up hard drive space on uncompressed.

Oh snap, great idea! That's right it says no recompression needed when you are doing that, huh?
