Rendering problem

Here I am again, trying to render and getting the message I'm low on memory. I have 6 gigs of memory. Intel i7 2.8 ghz, Win 7 64 bit computer. I have a 30000 mb paging file. No other programs are running. Internet connection has been disabled. Norton 360 has been disabled. I've restarted the computer, ran CCleaner.

I've tried twice to render a 4 minute music video as a m2ts AVCHD 1920 x 1280 60i file. I am using tons of plugins.

I've tried once to render it as 1280 x 720 30p. Same results as above.

I am so frustrated. This happens, without fail, almost everytime I try to render with SVMS. I'm using v11 HD Platinum. What can I do? Thanks.

About a month ago I rendered a 588 mb mp4 file on the first try. Almost no plugins used though. So I don't think it's codecs. I think it's SVMS and plugins.

Does Sony Vegas Pro render better than Movie Studio? I am so sick of this.

Them problems you get are well known problem. Vegas 32bit (and any other 32bit application) can't use more than 2 GB of RAM (even if you have 6 GB), so it crashes. You need to search this forum and if you feel safe doing that, you need to apply the 64bit patch, that lets Vegas use 1 more GB of RAM (3 GB overall). To get Vegas to use more RAM you need the Vegas Pro version, 64bit.

You can try export in MainConcept MP4 btw instead, which is less crashy. Unless you're trying to burn an AVCHD/BD disk, there's no reason to export in .m2ts.

Eugenia, thanks for replying. I got an error and was sent by SVMS to get an update. Does this update for v11 solve any rendering problems? SVMS is so great for editing, terrible for rendering.

Also I looked for the 64 bit patch but didn't see anything for that. Can you tell me where the patch is. I'm comfortable using it. Thanks again.

Here's the patch http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=697122&Replies=64 (you might need to use the 32bit version of that hack if your operating system is 32bit though).

No, the new VMS11 does not fix the problem, Vegas is a heavy app and it's easy to run out of the 2 GB barrier of 32bit apps. The problem will only go away if VMS gets released in 64bit (requires your OS to be 64bit too).

Eugenia, that did it. Thanks so much. I guess Sony wants you to upgrade to Pro for serious files. This problem keeps SVMS in the little leagues.
