Rendering Problems - Horizontal Lines

I am new to Vegas Video...I have outgrown my VideoFactory....

I rendered my first project and I am noticing horizontal lines when there is fast movement...not pixelated, just horizontal lines...very fine lines but lots of them...I have a plasma TV and I dont notice them that much but on normal projection TVs, etc, they REALLY show up..I have played with the field order as well as progressive scan..that doesn't seem to fix the problem....seems to look the worst on AVI uncompressed mode...with MPEG 1 & 2 you can see it but not as bad...what is the problem???

thanks

So i have done some research and found that the problem lies when I capture the video....something about interlacing...please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject...all I know is that videos captured with VideoFactory do not have the horizontal lines and vides captured with Vegas Video do have the lines....what setting am I missing here?

I have noticed the same thing and have had to apply the Quick Blur filter to reduce it. Reduce Interlace Flicker blurs motion too much. Looks worse than the banding problem. Nothing seems to prevent it.

"Search" will reveal that others have had the problem calling it different names such as banding, artifacting, etc. I have yet to see a definitive answer to preventing it.
