Rendering Problems with Pixelation FX

I'm trialing VV and I'd go as far as to say it the NLE solution for me. However, in my test renderings I've had a problems with using the pixelation FX. I'm using it, combined with a cookie cutter, to mask a number plate (just playing around with it) with pixellation values of 0.9, which makes it very blocky. When I render the sequence though, it's not blocky enough - It's as if it's completely ignores my pixel size of 0.9!

Am I doing something wrong? When I watch the sequence from the timeline in VV, it's a blocky as it should be. It's just the renderings that are wrong. Weird...

I've only done this once before and I had similar problems. The only trouble is, I don't remember exactly what it was. I think I found a different type of blur that worked great. I just don't remember what it was called. You'd expect "Pixelation" would be the one, but I used something else. Look in your FX folder for other types of blur and experiment.

Also - when using pixelation - be careful with the preview. To really see what it will be after rendering be sure to have the preview NOT set to Draft quality and also be sure to have the preview window opened to your project size (if PAL then to 720x576).

If you use a smaller preview window (or the Draft quality) you will will not see the pixelation fx as it will be after render.
