I noticed that with DV it doesn't re-render clips that have
no changes to the picture. This is great because the
rendering time is very short.

My question is: Does this hold true for other formats. If I
bring in an MPEG-1 clip and render at the exact same
settings, will go really fast or does it re-compress
everything.
