Rendering times?

Just wondering what sort of rendering times most folks are seeing with Vegas Pro v8c.

I have a new PC, built for audio/video processing, with an Intel Q9450 quad core CPU, 4GB of 800MHz DDR2 ram and Windows XP SP3. The CPU has a 2.66 GHz clock speed but is OC'd to 3.2GHz, and runs fairly cool there (mid 50s on hottest core). As I recall, none of the cores reach anywhere near full load during the rendering process--but I cannot remember the exact load values.

While rendering an MPEG-2 file of about 3GB size, I am seeing rendering times of around 25-28 minutes, give or take. I do render at "best" video quality and Mono audio, and I am just wondering if these are normal rendering times or not?

I am not worried about this or anything--simply wondering as I don't have anything to compare this to; this is the first machine I've used Vegas on.

Thanks.

TB

Needing to get some form of consistency in testing: Varied Media; Various PC builds; infinitely variable project complexity . . .etc etc : there is a render test that has been assisting us to do what you are after. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=526170Render Test thread with 8c at the bottom![/link]

You can download the test and make your PC jump through the hoops!
