Two-parter...

I recently bought Vegas 4.0 with DVD Architect. I have a 45 minute
movie which I want to put on a 4.7GB DVD.

I recently bought a DVD writer for my computer (Dell Dimension, 2 GHz,
1 GB ram). In the past, I rendered my movie as a MOV file, popped it
on an external drive, and took it to my friends MAC to burn a DVD.

1 - What is the best format to render as? I don't want
any loss of quality and I'd prefer a smaller file.

Rendering as a MOV file on Best quality will create a file roughly 100
GB in size. I recently bought a 180 GB Western Digital hard drive to
handle this as well as a 200 GB LaCie external drive. In the past I
used "Good" quality with Vegas 3 because I was unaware of of that
setting.

Also, I'd like to use one drive for project source data and one drive
to render movies to. My system drive is 120 GB, my Western Digital is
an internal IDE 180 GB drive. My LaCie external drive is 200 GB
firewire. I'm concerned the external drives speed may affect the rendering or DVD burning.

2 - Which should go on which drive?
