Rendering to QuickTime?

I have never had a need to render to QuickTime until now. I selected the QuickTime format. It told me no templates existed. I went ahead and hit enter, and it told me I needed to go download some authoring tools from Apple, etc. (I figure there's $$$$ involved...)

Is this working as designed (Vegas6.0)? If so, what do I need to get? (all I could find on the page it sent me to was the free player).

If Vegas should be rendering QT w/o all these gyrations, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Installing the Quicktime player adds the necessery codecs to your system. It's also needed in order to use TIFF images in your projects, by the way.

The free player will do just fine, but be sure to do a custom install "and check the option for Authoring Components and any other features you would like in QuickTime" (by way of the Sony knowledgebase).
