Rendering to UHDTV mp4 files

I'm currently using Vegas 12 platinum, and have just got a GoPro 4 Black, so I'm having a play with 4k video.

My current version will import the mp4 files the GoPro produces but I don't have the XAVC option on the render options.

Do I need to upgrade to 13 to get this, or is there an update to 12 to make this work ?

thanks

UHD support (and XAVC-S support) was introduced for Movie Studio 13 Platinum. It's not available in earlier versions, nor in the bare-bones Movie Studio 13.

MSP13's UHD support goes up to 3840x2160 (Vegas Pro 13's 4K support extends up to 4096x4096).

If I remember rightly in MS12 you can render using 'custom size' using Video For Windows as your template. This creates a very large .avi which can then be converted to something more manageable. I often used Handbrake for this.
