Rendering Uses Extra Space on Hard Drive?

As I use Movie Studio 16 Platinum frequently I notice that as I render video. A video can be say 3GB in file size, but on my Hard Drive it shows that I've lost more than 4GB. Deleting and Recycling the render file once I'm done uploading it retrieves my 3GB but not the extra 1GB. Where is this extra file space going?

Normally are that temporary files that are automatic deleted at shut down.
Thatswhy you need double the expected space before rendering to a location.

I figured that was the case but it's been a few days and I want to check that the data is clearing correctly. Are there folders I can check on my PC to make sure its clear?
I have been counting the data, I should have at minimum 10 GB more than listed on my PC atm
