rendering VV3 crashes at different places

Hello VV users,
i currently am using VV3c to edit. I have been using for a few months. The problem i am seeing is that when i am rendering is that it shuts itself down. I tried another .veg file and that shut itself down also. It shuts itself down at random points.

I am not doing anything complicated. I am taking the video and putting crossfades between them and laying in a 2nd audio track in the background so i get 50% original and 50% of music.

Greatly appreciate the help, i have read the other forum on rendering problems for VV4. I do know that the files are not corrupted.

thx

What exactly is happening, is the entire program shutting down, is it giving you an error message?? Be a little more specific and maybe we can help you out a little more. What file type are your source files, what are you trying to render to??

Jsnkc,
the program shuts down by itself no error message at all. I am rendering to .avi and i am capturing dv footage.

thx

dual athlons? Is your machine HOT?
Jsnkc wrote on 9/11/2003, 4:55 PM
That's what I was thinking, possibly a heat issue. Open up your case and put a fan blowing inside it and see if that solves your problem.

SOnyEPM,
i am using xp2200 cooled very well. do you think the dual audio layers would be the problem for rendering?

thx
