My advice would be to use raymaker to convert all your MXF files to Raylight AVIs.

But, for what its worth, I ALWAYS have render problems if the project is over 10 minutes. On three different computers too!

Takes a little babysitting to get things straight, try rendering out small bits at a time. If you're going to DVD, Vegas will smart render the small bits of MPEGs together at the end so you can make one file. Or you can use Raylight AVIs, since Vegas will smart render those too. Or go uncompressed if you have lots of room.

And when it hangs in the middle of the render, use taskmanger to end the vegas process tree. If you cancel, you lose the work you have done. If you end process tree, the file will (usually) be there and you can start rendering from the point it crashed.
