Not sure how you did it in DVDA1 (maybe the video was short enough that you used it as a looping menu?), but in DVDA2, you can just set its end action so that the video links to itself.

Looping Video

Follow bStro's advice for DVDA2.

That was it exactly!

""...in DVDA2, you can just set its end action so that the video links to itself."

I've never done an end action before (haven't had time to learn any of DVDA 2's new features really) and I couldn't remember the term to look up in help. I was looking under "links" I think and kept getting off track but I found it now...thanks Rob!

Well ...sorry but I'm back. After selecting "new" from the file menu and then adding a single movie, I opened End Actions/Media files in the index of help. It states to click the "+" button next to the end action but below my media there is a question mark / binocular icon "Link - most recent menu". How do I make it link to itself?
TIA,
Randy

I...have no clue. I haven't noticed that icon (question mark / binoculars), though that usually denotes a search button. Are you looking in the Properties window and do you see the End Actions section? After clicking the plus-sign, you'll see the Command property and the Destination property. Set the Command property to Link. For the Destination property, the combo box will give you the option of "Most recent menu" or the video that you have in your single movie project. Select your movie.

Curious about this ? / binoculars icon... Can you post a screencap somewhere? It doesn't sound completely unusual, but I can't recall ever seeing one in DVDA. Maybe something went wrong with importing your video?

I'm looking in the "project overview" window (I'm assuming that's what you mean right?)
>>and do you see the End Actions section?<<
All I see below the title is the icon I mentioned and "Link-most recent menu"
>>After clicking the plus-sign, you'll see the Command property and the Destination property.<<
Yes sir that's what "help" says but there aint no + sign. The tree is opened as soon as I add the media and it states

Untitled (with a "-" in front of it)
the title(CPD Recruitment) (with a "-" in front of it)
the icon I mentioned and "Link-most recent menu"

I'll try to do that tomorrow
>>Maybe something went wrong with importing your video?<<
I burned a "single movie" yesterday and it played fine, the client just wants one that'll loop (by noon).
Thanks Rob,
Randy

Okay with my time restriction I tried to do this using DVDA 1 like I did before with the background video/audio with loop selected. I double clicked the DVDA video stream but it did not "marry" the AC3 file with the same name. In fact DVDA 1 does not even see it when I open the folder and try to select it as audio. Please advise : )

Nope. The Project Overview window and the Properties window are different things with different purposes. The former lists all the items in your project -- menus, submenus, buttons, and videos. The Properties window is used for setting how all those things behave. Look around for a tab marked Properties (I believe it's on the right by default). If you don't see it, go to the View menu and select Properties.

If you were doing a menu-based project, you'd want to double-click the link for the video you want to set properties for. Since you're doing a single-movie project, its properties should already be listed in the Properties window.

Sorry, I don't know why the AC3 file wouldn't show up. It's in that folder if you check in Windows Explorer?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you Rob.
I didn't think you were refering to the project properties because all that is listed there is "project video format" (NTSC 720 X 480) and "project audio format" ( AC-3 Stereo) and the summary page (blank) when selecting single movie. BTW, it does load both fine. I get the same in "menu based". When I double-click either nothing happens.
Also, yes, windows sees the ac-3 but DVDA 1 doesn't.

No, I was not referring to the Project Properties.

The Properties window is a regular component of the DVDA screen, similar to the Media Explorer window and the Project Overview window. Because the windows in DVDA2 are dockable / moveable, my setup may be different from yours; the Properties window on your screen might be in a different position, or it might be behind another window, or it might be closed. As I said before, if it's not already on your screen, go to the VIEW menu and choose PROPERTIES.

Here is what the DVDA2 screen looks like in the DVDA2 manual. The Properties window to which I've been referring is on the right. In this screenshot, it is in front of the Compilation window.

Thank you so much for your patience Rob. I was looking everywhere but there! It's been a very long stressful day ; on top of trying to meet this deadline I did my first green screen shoot today (still haven't viewed the footage but keeping my fingers crossed til tomorrow...too tired tonight I'm going to bed). Anyway, I FINALLY see what you and help have been trying to show me!
Thanks again Rob,
Randy
