replace event media with another?

i just can't figure out how to replace the media in an event with another. i'm using photos so the length isn't a problem. is there a way to do this? i think i've done it before, but can't remember how.

I'm not sure what aspect of this you are having a problem with.

You can:
Delete the old clip and drop in the new one
Drop the new one over the old one
Drop in the new one over the old one as a take
...or the long way around;
Change the file name of the old one and rename the new one to the old one's original name

Takes is the best way, as this gives you the choice of toggling through as many takes as you have "stacked" using the "T" key.

To replace an event this way, lift the new clip up with RIGHT mouse, drop it on the old and select "Add as take" from the drop down.
