Reported Data rates in project media window....

I'm somewhat confused by the reports I'm getting about my D7100 vs D7000 files. Both of these camera produce what is supposed to be 24 megabits per second data rates when doing 24P with B frame in a MOV wrapper. In the media project window the following video data rates are reported:

MBytes sec 9.37 for the D7100
MBytes sec 3.75 for the D7000

Shouldn't you just take 8 times those numbers to get the megabits per second? That is close for the D7000 as it is reported to be 24 MegaBits per second (3.75 * 8 = 30) however the 7100 is calculated at 9.37 * 8 = 74.96.

Am I misreading this or is MS reporting wrong video data figures.

Is the data spec 24 megabits/second (Mb/s)?

With 8 bits/byte, it is reporting correctly, isn't it?

1MB = 1 million bytes
1 Mb = 1 million bits

I don't think my D7100 is recording at 9.37 MBytes - that is 75 Mbits per second. And yes the numbers for the D7000 jive close to stated specs.
