The Dell is on Port 1 via DVI and Acer is port 2 via a regular analogue monitor cable. Acer is the external.
OldSmoke wrote on 10/17/2014, 1:05 PM
You have to check what kind of resolution your card can support on the VGA connector. The GT630 is a rebranded card and depending on your model may not support good resolutions on the external monitor. You can read about it here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units#GeForce_600_Series Not the best card for video editing.

Edit: have you tried GPU off?

I've gone to PREFERENCES...VIDEO and turned GPU Acceleration off,
I'll check the card. I didn't seem to notice it on my other projects.

What do you mean "resize"? If you are using the external monitor option you should be getting full screen
GeeBax wrote on 10/17/2014, 4:35 PM
LCD monitors have a certain native resolution, and if you 'resize' your work then the monitor may not be working at its native resolution any longer, this inevitably results in an interpreted display that may show the effects you report.
fosko wrote on 10/17/2014, 5:00 PM
I meant resize the initial window for more workspace and use the external for monitoring,
Rob Franks wrote on 10/17/2014, 5:27 PM
So you're not actually using the external monitor option but rather simply resizing the preview window?
fosko wrote on 10/17/2014, 7:05 PM
I'm using the external monitor as a monitor. I resize the primary monitor window so I can have more work space for tracks
.
Rob Franks wrote on 10/17/2014, 8:09 PM
Ahhh... okay, I get it.

I'm running 3 monitors and I can't say I have that issue. My vid cards aren't world class either. I'm running a GTX 275 and a GTX 650 with an i7. Now my monitors are all the same brand and all hooked up via HDMI. Maybe that's the issue for you?
OldSmoke wrote on 10/17/2014, 9:14 PM
I am still not sure I got it right. You keep on saying you are resizing but I believe you are rearranging your workspace. You are not going into the windows display properties changing the resolution or are you?

So what resolution have you set your windows environment for the monitors and what resolution is your respective monitor? Do they all match?

There's something internal in Vegas....a setting in the particular project. I just loaded another project and (as I remembered) it works fine.

This 'problem' project was just a small play job, so it's not important. I didn't take any real time or pay attention when setting it up, so I probably hit something wrong there. I was getting other' weird things like video clips not fitting right on the screen, messed up aspect ratio. Chalk it up to carelessness and let it be a lesson to PAY ATTENTION when setting up a project.

Thanks for the help~
