Rerendering MPEGs

Having read many points here mentioning thatrerendering an MPEG would involve a loss of quality would the same thing happen if the edited MPEG was first Printed to DV tape then recaptured.

Just wanted to know.

Yes, Mpeg is a compressed format. Even more so than DV. DV to mpeg or timeline to Mpeg = loss of quality.
