Resetting Docking windows

Is there any way to reset all of the different windows back to there
original settings? I'm a newcomer to this program so I was getting a few
tips from another newbie about using this program but we reached the stage
where we could no longer get ever 2 of the lower screens to display at once
like the viewer & the one for doing the keyframes. The biggest problem appears to be that we haven't been resizing them
correctly.

Hey Click,

If you go to the View button towards the top you can click on that and select/deselect what you want to see/not see or just click on the tabs at the bottom. Hopefully that helps.

I had done this & the tabs had reappeared again at the bottom but when I clciked a tab each window opened & took up the whole botton portion of the screen & couldn't be resized

Click, you should be able to go to the edge of the window itself and resize it. You may have widened the preview screen. Go to the edge on the left or right and the pointer should change to a smaller arrow pointing to the left and right. Once you see this jsut move your cursor and resize that particular window. Tee.

Check the .pdf file for the Vegas manual. You can hold down something like "CTRL + SHIFT" while launching the program and it will set the everything back to default settings, as if you had just installed the program. I just can't remember the exact keystroke combination.

You can also grab the vertical bar below the X and triangle to undock a window or create a new docking area.
