Hi, I feel rather ignorant here, but having imported some Ping files into a project, I cannot seem to simply resize them to fit my screen (ALL of my images need to be resized in Sony). Can someone suggest what I might be missing here? Thanks, ct
The Pan/Crop Tool will resize your images as needed. Have you tried it?
But if you want to save some time and just load your images at full screen, you just need to resize them before you put them into your project. Size them to 640x480 to fit a standard definition video project.
As noted, the pan/crop tool is the easiest way to get your still image to appear the size/shape you want. Alternatively you can use some external image editing tool to resize the image outside Vegas; people typically do this when they want the image to appear full screen in the rendered video, so they resize the image to have the same pixel dimensions as their final rendered video.
There are some old suggestions that you need to downsize large images to avoid memory crashes in Vegas. With the current release of VMS (along with the 64-bit fix) I have not found this to be the case. I've rendered several HD videos containing some very large images ( tens of megabytes) with no problem.
