As long as I'm even slightly zoomed in on the timeline, it doesn't do that to me (running 8.0b).

As was mentioned, slight zoom in before adding the additional clip(s). I agree that I don't want it messing with my zoom level and was surprised the first time I saw it happen. I have not found an option to turn off this behaviour. For one of my tasks, I do have a script that resets it!!!

I have to admit though- I really like this feature - it's so useful when adding in lots of media into the timeline, that it quickly brings the end onscreen, ready for me to add in the next media after the previous(!).

Flicking back to v7 occasionally, I really miss the feature.

And as mentioned, once you've zoomed a little, it's not affecting anyway

Of course it's easy to do that anyway a couple of different ways - but, yes, it would add another step to do so - just like another step has now been added for me to reset my zoom level back from 1.3 hours to 1.3 minutes when it shouldn't have changed to begin with!

I'd rather see this be an option instead of automatically just doing it.
