*Resolved. Please see post below to to see the reason this happened to me.*

Hello,

I started working on a new project Tuesday May 2nd and everything worked well. Then the thing with the having to be offline to start the program started when I attempted to work on it Wednesday May 3rd. Once I saw the having to be offline bit, everything went well. Tonight, May 6th, I opened the program while offline because I hadn't seen the patch yet, and after working for about 30 minutes all video assets in the project started turning green (or other colors) like in screen shot A below. In going through the forums I saw the patch and installed. Once the program was reopened, everything still looked as below. I've even opened older projects that never had any issues and they are also showing up this way. This only seems to affect video assets, any pictures or added text seem to be alright (see screen shots B & C below). Any potential help would be amazing, because as of now, the program is a brick and I cannot start any new projects.

Additional note: The original video assets look fine while played in other programs.

Things I've tried (in order):

  • Ending the program through task manager and reopening
  • Turning off hardware acceleration, then reopening the project
  • Deleting the SFK files associated with the video assets while the program is closed, then reopening the program
  • Deleting the SFK files associated with the video assets while the program is closed, then reopening the program while holding ctrl + Shift
  • Uninstalling, deleting the folder everything Vegas was installed in, deleting all the SFK files associated with the video assets, emptying the recycle bin, then reinstalling the program with the patch
  • Starting a brand new project with a file that has never been used in Vegas (The green appears there as well)
  • Rendering to see if it was purely an in program glitch (It is not)

System specs are included in screen shot D below

What's the media specifically?

What is your GPU? What's the driver version?

Can you share a screenshot of preferences file io?

@Cordilia Please post media info on one of the "green" problem files. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

So figured it out. Often when I'm editing things based more on visuals than audio I'm in a discord call with friends watching them play games or movies. Up until this point, there has been no issue doing this. I even did it while editing on Wednesday May 3. When I loaded up last night to check settings to respond to RogerS, things loaded up normal. The difference being that I wasn't in a Discord call. Today, I loaded up, then asked a friend to start streaming to Discord, and as soon as I started watching their stream, things went green again in Vegas.

Thank you folks for your responses.

Thank you for finding out and sharing on what was happening. Can be a reference when similar thing happens for other users.

Not sure if uncheck these can be a solution to Discord-related trouble?

I will give that a shot next time I am working on something while in a Discord call with friends. Thank you :)
