when you start vegas video you have 3 plugins on the audio track. I removed them and now I would like to get them back. How can i put them back without messing up current audio track. i believe that one of them was compression and the other was eq and i forgot what the other one was. Thanks in advance.
From VIEW on the MENU BAR, select Plug-ins, then Audio, then FX. Or just click on the little green icon on any audio track. What you can do too is just uncheck filters you don't want and leave them on the track. Like with video filters, the ORDER the filters are added to the plug-ins on the chain does matter. So try moving them around to see which order gives best results. You don't have to remove filters to move their order. Just click on any FX button and drag to change its position in the plug-in chain.
If you haven't saved the default track setting *without* the plugins, you might try adding a new track and moving all the events onto it. (select events to end, numpad-2)
One drastic way to restore the default plugins is to hold down the Ctrl & Shift keys while starting Vegas. This will reset ALL of the defaults and preferences, so if there are lots of other things you've changed, you'll have to change them again. A gentler way of doing this is to click on the plugin chooser button, add the three plugins you want, then right-mouse-button click on the track header so that you get a pop up menu with "Set Default Track Properties" as one of the options, and click on that. This will save whatever plugins you choose as the defaults for all new audio tracks (or video, if you are working on a video track).
Keep in mind, however, that the three original default plugins are all set to "0", or no effect. So they actually aren't doing anything by having them there. If you had changed the settings before removing them, and are now adding them back in, they'll be back to "0" again. You can always add any plugin to any track or event or bus at any time, so i'm not sure what advantage there is to having those three defaults set up anyway.
