Restore original event speed

When I change the speed of an event with the crtl>drag, is there a way to restore the event to its original length and the clip to its original (normal) speed? Dragging it back to where I think it was doesn't seem to work.

Undo will undo just about anything you do. Just to test it does, I stopped what I was doing, copy, pasted a small section of my current project and then stretched and then undone it all.

Right-click the clip, choose properties, and change the playback rate back to 1. Then resize the clip back to the correct size.
