I know this is off the subject but can someone direct me to a softwear that I can repair old photos to be used in vf slide show. Adobe photodeluxe had a cloning function that would repair damaged pics but now that I upgraded to XP it will not work.I uninstalled and now it will not reinstall.Thank you all.
Ps . Im just interested in fixing damaged not color or other quick fixes.

PaintshopPro's web site has a tutorial, and there's a plugin from Imagedoctor. SmartDraw Photo includes a scratch removal tool.

Some software won't reinstall properly if there's just 1 hidden file somewhere. If you try uninstalling via add/remove, then do a search for any files related to adobe then delete those relevant to the prog, reboot then reinstall.

I found out the program will not work with XP, so I downloaded paintshop pro wow great program. 60 day fully functional trial. Thanks IanG just what I needed.

You can’t go wrong with Paint Shop Pro 8. I’ve been using it since version 4 and it is an exceptional tool for restoring old photos. My favorite features are the Adjust->Color Balance->Fade Correction for bringing old faded color photos back to life and the Scratch Remover brush for removing scratches. You can also use the Clone Brush to repaint missing corners. It’s just a great palette of tools for working with photos and it’s a great illustrator tool for making new graphics as well. It also supports Photoshop plugins. If you use it, you’ll wind up buying it.
