Reverse when printed to DV tape

I know how to reverse clips using the velocity envelope, and i do tons of cool things like making it look like people can jump high, ect by playing it in reverse. However, there is one issue. Reverse looks great when I render it to a new track and watch it on my computer. But when I print it to a DV tape so i can put it on VHS, the reverse is very choppy and messed up. It looks fine on the computer; this only happens when it is on the DV tape and in VHS format. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Make sure the source media's "field order" property is set correctly (most likely "lower field first"). Also, make sure the advanced project property "deinterlace method" is set to "interpolate".
