Ripping DVD's for avi files acceptable to Vegas

Been asked to quote a promo using material ex four dvd's. Ripped one of them and the output avi's are not acceptable to Vegas,Corel's VideoStudio Pro or Magix Pro Editor.

What do I use to get this footage in its best quality and be acceptable to Vegas. DVD's Include SD and HD original footage.

I am a newbie and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In Vegas try: File | Import | DVD Camcorder Disc... and this will copy the MPEG source from the DVD VOB files with no loss in quality.

JohnnyRoy - my thanks - first disc contained many 'error' files, but I have made a start.
My appreciation.

Download the trial version of VideoReDo Plus, copy the DVD folder to your desktop, and run "Quickstream Fix" on it. Should make everything work dandy in Vegas.
