ripple edit on multiple tracks doesn't work

hi.. I'm pretty familiar with the ripple edit, but how do you apply it to mulitple tracks? It only affects the ONE track where I'm moving an event. Do I have to shift select all the tracks that I want it applied to? I've tried that too.. didn't seem to work.

also.. I do realize that I need to have "affects selected tracks.. etc' selected in the dropdown of the ripple edit too. I've tried all 3 options and it still only affects one track.

thanks for the help..
OH.. using vegas 8.0c on Vista

thanks
Dan

Well that's basically the key and it should be set to 'Affects ALL tracks and markers..."

This will adjust all tracks as you add, remove or slip events on your time line.

You don't need to select all the tracks on the time line but having set the 'Ripple' parameter to "Affects All Tracks..." you need to make sure the actual Ripple Edit icon in the Menu is highlighted (turned to ON)... sometimes changing the parameter doesn't actually leave it highlighted and set on.
