Ripple effect - what am I doing wrong

Hi all

I wanted to extend a clip (A title, actually) and, with ripple effect set I expected everything else on that track to move down the timeline (if I had all events highlighted shouldn't everything moved). Instead the eve I extended just overlapped the following. What have I done wrong or have I misunderstood the concept of ripple effect.

Thanks in advance.

You are not doing anything wrong... Vegas does not ripple in that fashion.

You might try to make the title the length you wish, then select the following events in track (select>right-click>select events to end) then drag the sequence to the desired position.

There are other ways that users may share, but this is just one way. The best way will depend on the specifics of your project.

Try a search for "Ripple" in this forum. Lots of good info.

If you have multiple tracks, use the select tool, select from end of timeline to insert point. Once all clips selected, they can be moved.
