Hi

Ive used RME products since 2001 and with Vegas 1 to Vegas 6. Never once had one single problem with them. I forget the model names but first I had a stereo RME pci card and now I have a 16 channel system HDSP 9652 with two pci 8 channel A/D converters. Most reliable audiocards ever!

I've got 3 Multiface-2's, work very well. 2 are on PCI cards, 1 is used with cardbus in Notebook computer for location recording.

Very solid drivers, in my experience.

Thanks Rick! A related question: Can you use the ADAT & SPIDF I/O simultaneously? With Echo cards you can only use one or the other. Being able to use both at the same time would REALLY improve my workflow and routing.

Thanks again!

I've been using RME fireface800 for a few years and no problems whatsoever, went through 3 different laptops and one desktop PC, Vegas 6,7,8 during that time.

Haven't used their other cards.

Since I don't have ADAT, I can't test that, but you can select between coax and optical for SPDIF. I would suspect that using coax spdif would work along with ADAT. You could try posting that question to RME, on their web page.

With regards to ADAT and stuff, based on my hammerfall, you can use everything it has all at once. I have 18 in's and out available to play always - I use ADAT just about exclusively :)

Thanks for confirming this Ken! My sales guy said I could use both simultaneously but you know sales guys . . . I wanted to hear it from someone who actually did it in the real world! <smile>
