Click the 'Media Generators' tab at the bottom of the screen, select 'Credit Roll' in the generator list, then drag a preset onto the timeline.

That seems to give me the inserts for text into the Credit Roll, how do i clear the preset stuff out (blank it) so I can typen type in just my 8 lines of text?

Click an existing line, then hit the Delete key to remove it.

Click and hold on the grey box to the left of the text area to select the type of text line you want to use (heading, single or double item).

There's another recent topic regarding how to insert a line (hit the Insert key, can you believe it?) ;)

I usually end up just using the Text Generator and Track Motion to do credit rolls. The actual Credit Roll media generator is a little to restrictive.

If you use Track Motion, make sure the smoothness is set to 0% for each keyframe (if you want a constant speed).

I use pan/crop for simple text moves - not track motion.

Do yourself a favor and do a search of previous posts regarding credit rolls. There haven't been any advancements in how this is deployed in Vegas in the past three versions. It is crude at best and extremenly non-intuitive. Do the search and opy and paste the helpful parts to a word document. Then print it and keep it handy as you work up the credit roll.

I have done that in the past. It was late (for me ) and I just didn't have the time then.

Thanks guys
