Run an advanced save on request

Amivideotek wrote on 5/21/2022, 1:12 AM

Is it possible to run an advanced save on request and preferably with a shortkey?
Sometimes I test a video effect or something else and I want to look at this test more clearly and therefore start the "Selective Prerender Video". Unfortunately, Vegas Pro often blocks during the "Prerender Video" (often on my computer anyway).
I know and I use "Advanced save" and "Incremental save" well, but sometimes it is useful to start an "Advanced save" on request with a shortkey, without having to save my project!

Greetings Alain

@Amivideotek - I don't see a Shortcut Keystroke available for this.

jetdv wrote on 5/21/2022, 8:38 AM

Can't you just use CTRL-S to save the project?

Grazie wrote on 5/21/2022, 8:41 AM

I’ve got that on a CSP Button, right next to Exit - Click SAVE …Click…EXIT.

Surely CTRL-S is a shortcut key.

From the OP's post, I'm not sure that he wants just a save. However, he does need to make is intentions more clear. He distinctly says 'without having to save my project' @Amivideotek

Agreed. But how do you 'save' - no matter what it might be termed - without 'saving'?

That's what I was wondering too. (and I didn't read that part when I first read his post)

I read and understood. However, what was being proposed is “sideways” to what we normally do do. I’ve got no problem with that. 😉.

Maybe he wants to just save the project with a different name temporarily so he can test what he has just done. However, a Save As won't do that, because the project has now become that different name.
He really needs to get back with his intentions. @Amivideotek

Doesn't the advanced save save as incremental filennames so the original is not overwritten? That is what I interpret that the OP wants, to use a shortcut to trigger an incremental save without waiting for a specific interval.

With the right settings this option has no need to start it.

Thank you for your answers, but the intention is to test effects but since I am afraid that Vegas Pro will stop working, I want to make a minorbackup with the Advanced Save on request before rendering.
Is the effect is good and I want to keep it and Vegas Pro would stop working, I can retrieve this project in the minorfolder (when it was saved on request). Is the effect not good and Vegas Pro stops working I just open a previous saved version.

I hope this shortcut would be available in a next version of Vegas Pro (but I doubt it)
