Runtime issue

Hi,

When trying to import some (144) MPEG files from a DCR-SR37 Sony camcorder to VP8, at around 90% of the process i got this message:

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application´s support team for more information."

As a way to work this around i copied the files to a folder on my PC HDD and, inside VP8, dragged the files to the timeline. Again at around 90% of the process i got this message:

"Sony Vegas Pro 8.0

Since i had no success with these two options i decided to convert the MPEG to AVI files with an external converter and now i am able to import them to VP8's timeline and edit them.

Can someone explain me what is happening here? This makes absolutelly no sense to me. I'm importing the files from a Sony camcorder to a Sony application and i can get no compatibility?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Access violation means that a process tried to access a resource (usually RAM) that it doesn't have permission to access. In our context it almost always indicates an old device driver. Usually the video driver.

Everything after "Access Violation" is meaningless

I've always had problems with Pro 8 whenever I tried to import more than 50 MPEG-2 files and my workaround was the same as yours (convert to AVI).
