I just rendered another at default template and none for "video format" which still let me pick 32bpp for "compression depth" and it worked also. (I didn't select "animation")

Animation? I got this from your, "you can render to Mov. (animation) and it will work" . .

Well, indicastions are good. It's doing a frame every second .. so for me that is kinda 25 seconds for each second of film - BIG improvement. This is from my source material which in itself has this "rolling" stream AND has a velocity envelope. So .. let's see.

Now, I do get the Sample TExt appearing ON a chequered background AND it appears over a solid grey Gen MEdia.

.. . rendering .. ? Now 80% done on a 22 second Loop. Taken 10mins so far - if this works it will be terriffic!

Thanks nickle .. . where DID you get your knowledge from?

100% done in 11:03 mins .. .

openning folder ..

Brought back to t/l testing .. transparencey there

I can see through AND see the type on the chequer board.

Preview looks pretty juddery. Did RAM Preview. Still juddery.Print To Tape as a final confirm on Judder. Yup, still there.

Switching from Prog Scan to Lower Field First .. .

repeated Print To Tape .. smooth judder, but each letter has kind "seaprated" ?

... ?

Grazie

So, I'm still left with the letters separating. I can smooth out judders but now have the letters kinda de-fielding .. separating?

Good morning Grazie.

I just tried a test with scrolling generated text rendered to pal and it looked a tad better than the NTSC that I did.

I didn't get any separation of the letters or anything unusual.

But don't forget that you are now looking at highly compressed media, which is why I asked the "I'll bite" question to begin with. You get faster renders and much smaller files but you lose quality.

There is a slider below the "video format" window that you can slide to highest quality and another setting for good and best.

I can only experiment with what I have (generated text) which is pretty basic so it looks OK to me.
