Samsung NX1 (HEVC 4K Files) issue...

Pehumma:

I have a problem after this build 201 update. After rendering there seems to be dublicated frames in video. I have tried at least Sony XAVCS and Prores (29.97p). By checking rendered video frame by frame the issue can be seen.

Maybe it is my computer or videofiles, but Vegas Pro 14 worked before update. My GPU is old GTX460. My camera is Samsung NX1 (HEVC 4k files).

EDIT: I checked again with EOS M files and they seems to render correctly. But my HEVC 4k files don't.

Pehumma:

I just render a clip and it really seems that my HEVC 4k files are not supported now correctly. Every, lets say 8-10 frame is a dublicate as far as I can understand because the video is not moving then. When I render I just choose the output format (e.g. Sony XAVCS or Prores (29.97p).). All else default.

Set:

Does this one similar to yours?

Pehumma:

I am downloading one of them and test it. Should be similar file.

I rendered this: yvid_SAM_0231-HQQuality.mp4

Problem exists. What is your conclusion?

set wrote on 11/21/2016, 5:48 AM

I think I notice the frame skipping issue:

Here's my test:

Not sure if this was caused by this issue?

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/cinema-camera-judder--104427/

The true 24p has been successfully fixed, but probably causing another problem? - I need to experiment further...

My experiment so far:
No issue when exporting yvid_SAM_0164-C4K_Sample2.mov - this is a true 24p format. I try export it to True-24p ProRes.

The plug-in used to read this media is mxhevcplug.dll, which is the same plugin to read ProRes media. So I curious to try it with ARRI Amira samples, download the 29.97p version, and I can notice the frame skipping issue. (In the end, I downloaded all frame rate versions of FullHD resolution)

Besides 29.97p, the problem also occured on

  • 23.976p
  • 59.94p
  • 59.94i

Duh... O M G! 😑

For ProRes, I can temporarily turn off the mxhevcplug.dll, and let VP14 going back using qt7plug.dll to read ProRes files. Unfortunately, no alternate workaround for the Samsung NX1 footage.

I am wondering if the mxhevcplug.dll was updated with Build 201 and if the older would work with 29.97p. I hope Magix is aware of this issue now and fix it. I am sure they can do it.

Thank you set for your efforts!

set wrote on 11/21/2016, 9:39 AM

I'll help forwarding this issue to developers.

Pehumma, that's what I'm wondering too, temporarily using build 189's mxhevcplug.dll ...
