GenArts Sapphire Edge Trial for Sony Vegas available for download.

It is priced at $299 and looks like a slim version with simplified control set from Sapphire ($1699).

You also get a free one year subsciption to FX Central for pre-built looks

I gave it a quick try, there are things I like but will test it further in the coming days.

Will also test drive Sapphire and see how it compares with Sapphire Edge

checked out the promo clip... so it's a similar app to the MB Look Suite in function/purpose?

I guess similar to MBL but with simplified controls, but you do get transitions as well which MBL doesn't have.

So I tried Sapphire, which I liked very much but the price tag ($1699) is way to high, so I quickly gave up on it.

On the other hand, Sapphire Edge seems really great, not as much settings but much more affordable.
It is not as ressource intensive as MBL. I prefer it's pre-built looks to MBL and you get transitions as well.

My only wish so far, and I wrote to them about it, is to have a blur and color setting with the lens flare transitions just like they have with the lens flare FX for more control on the lens flare transitions.

Overall it's a great product, a nice replacement for MBL, might not have has much settings has MBL but you can always add Sony FX to further fine tune your looks.

SE allows for Timeline adjustment. MBL doesn't.

This looks interesting. But i dont seem to be able to download the trial version to check it out. Filled in the form twice but no download email!
Anyone else with problems downloading?
