Save files won't load after software crash.

I was working on a project for hours today and just spent the last four hours trying to figure out why I can't load any of the three saves I made to my project in case of a crash. It's now 4:30am. I've seen so many answers on the internet and under the sun as to what the problem could be but none of them have fixed this. Everything was working fine until suddenly Vegas crashed and now it just won't let me open any of the saves I worked so hard on. I feel miserable because I poured my soul into this stuff and was having such a good time and now...it's gone? Despite my best efforts? Can someone please give me some hope that I can load my project again? I even tried to see if it was because this was an older version of Vegas and tried to load the .veg files in the trial version of 20 and it doesn't work/ gives the same error message. Same thing if I try to load the .baks . I don't know why. I'm very tired and could do with some help on this, thank you. I updated my Nvidia graphics software. I haven't had AMD loaded on this computer before but maybe there's something somewhere in the registry but I don't want to delete random .dlls without 100% certainty that it will fix the problem. I checked the system integrity and everything seems to be fine. I could always just reinstall Kernelbase.dll and see if that works but I don't know what would cause it to stop functioning just because I was editing some videos and trying to move a piece of audio around which caused the crash, nor why it would prevent me from opening any of the older backup saves I made pre-audio moving. I'm just at wits end.
