Save media to project

I finished a huge project with thousands of pictures in different folders & on different drives. My goal is to get rid of the thousands of pictures & clips that I didn't use & keep only the ones that I did use. I'm not sure how the "save media to project" works. What I want to do is only keep the media that I used in the project & delete everything else. So if I go to a destination folder with 1000 pictures I didn't use & 50 I did, how do I delete what I didn't use & keep just what I did use? Thank you so very much for who ever helps me with this!! Go to Tools - Clean Project Media

This will remove any files you didn't use from your project.

Now create a new copy of the project by doing

1) File -> Save As

2) Choose a different location for your project, just don't put it in a subfolder of your current project. You'll see why later.

3) Check "Copy media with project"

4) Click save.

5) When it asks you to choose between copying source or trimmed versions, choose "Copy source media" I have *never* seen VP successfully create trimmed copies.

You're done. You can move the new project and files somewhere safe and delete the old folder.
