Save scanned stills as: jpeg, png, tiff???

Hi all,
Just wondering what most of you save scanned stills as for use w/ VV4. I have been using jpegs, but wonder if using a format w/ less compression makes much difference. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving.

If I have a jepeg already, I'll use that but if I scan new pictures then I save them as PNG files I have converted all my old tiffs's to PNG's.

Having used both jpg and png, I prefer png. I do see a difference.

Lately, the .tga format seems to have many fans.
