saved mpeg 1 or 2 ??

How can I find out if a rendered project is saved as a MPEG1 or saved as MPEG 2?
When I try to view the descripton (hard drive list ) is just lists as MPEG.

Open the file in Windows Media Player, go under file, then properties and it should say there wether it is a MPEG 1 or a MPEG 2 file. Generally if it is a MPEG-1 it will be a 320X240 or a 352X240, and a MPEG-2 will be a 720X480.

You should be able to get details in Vegas too.

Go to the Explorer tab, at the top click on the little down pointing arrow, then be sure Summary is one of your selected choices. Then anytime you click on a file in the Vegas Explorer below at the bottom of the display of files you'll see something like this:

<used a MPEG-2 file for the following example>

Video: 720x480x32 29.970 (fps interlaced 01:24:14.04 MPEG-2
Audio 48,000 Hz Stereo 01:24:14.04 Mpeg Layer 2

So without leaving Vegas you can get the frame size, color depth, frame rate, length, audio Hz etc..
