saving alpha channel ?

I have created a title with transparent background . When I render this file as avi, the alpha channel gets wiped out. How do I maintain the transparency ?

Save it as Uncompressed AVI

Render to AVI (default template - uncompressed) - make sure the "RENDER ALPHA" is set to yes.
Import this into your project and right click the media and select properties/Alpha straight.

You can also render to quicktime - animation format (32bpp) and that will also work - that creates smaller files than uncompressed AVI.
