Saving edited clip with ScenAnalyser

Bit Of Byte wrote on 6/22/2007, 2:21 AM
Hi Team,

After reading the manual, I am still unable to save any changes I make to the captured clip.

i.e. After deleting scenes and scrubbing stuff, I commit changes by clicking 'OK'. It then seems to make the cahnges but then says "no cahnges made".

When I exit out and hop back into ScenAnalyzer, nothing has been altered on the whole clip.

How to commit changes properly please?

And, how to retreive prevousily captured files back into ScenAnalyzer please?

Scenalyzer is a capture utility. That's all it does.
All your editing is done in Vegas.
I highly recommend going through the manual to learn how to do the basics.
Edward Troxel's free newsletters are a good source of information.
Sony has some Vegas Training Videos samples from their Seminar series. It's for Vegas 5 but the basic principles are still valid.

Once again, it's a capture utility, NOT an editing program.
That's why you bought Vegas, isn't it?

thanks rs.

Scenanalyzer is great for first cut cutting of clips, etc. - so i hear and even the manual say so.

i will be using vegas for the finer point of cutiing etc.

I think you can email the guy that made it (belive his name is Andreas) with questions - go to the website and search for the adress - afaik it is there...

You can trim clips with Scenalyzer, sort of. I don't bother with it, preferring to do everything to the clips from inside Vegas. If I recall, in Scenalyzer you mark the input-output points and recapture.

Just do it in Vegas.

Bit of Byte is right, later versions of Scenalyzer have some cutting/trimming/editing capability.

I experimented with it a bit, didn't find it very intuitive, and then went back to using the old version 2.1 (July 28 2003) which is very simple.

Oh how I wish Andreas would come up with Sclive for HDV.
