saving project problems

Sue Gessel wrote on 10/4/2010, 1:53 PM
Occasionally, when I try to save a project that I have been working on, and saving as I go - I will get a message telling me that I can't save the project to that location - even though that is what I have been doing. I usually just resave using a different name. But, does anyone know why??????????

2nd question - so I resaved to a different location and then when I attempted to open a clip in the trimmer to label it (just as I had been doing many times) it said 'access denied - make sure not a read only file or not in use by another program.
Are these issues related???? Any ideas?? thanks

Are you doing a save or save-as? You can't save-as to the same name as the current project.

I am doing a 'save as' = which I have used often. It asks do I want to replace the current project - I say Yes and all is good, usually.

Have you tried rebooting the machine from scratch. It sounds like Windows is not letting go of files it has touched.

Yes, have tried rebooting. Still the problem. It's a puzzler.
