scanning pictures into Vegas

Puting pictures into vegas via scanner would be great for me except for the fact that it will only let me put one or maybe two then the screen goes black and it says -to start again press any key(you know). I have done this many times and always the same thing happens. It is a new scanner multi pass f30. Do you think this is a problem of the scanner, PC, or vegas? Could they be incompatible? Any advice or patches for this problem. They all work separatly great. What kind of scanners are you using out their in vegas land?
Thanks again, I am learning a lot here.

You know, I never use the scanner feature in Vegas, rather relying on the handle you can access from Adobe's PhotoShop. My scanned images always need to be doctored up there anyways. In any event, Vegas just pulled the twain_32 component of your scanner, and that's it. It has no other controls on your scanner. You should troubleshoot the software that ships with your scanner if you are having problems with it, since that is what Vegas pulls forward (an object) when scanning anything. I personally use the HP Scanjet 5400c and find it very reliable.

Epson 1650 scanner... I'd suggest the photo version that does slides and negatives though...

Great scanner.. works great with Photoshop.

Do you mean you scan directly into Vegas? Cool.
What kind of connection is it, USB, IEEE 1394 or what? Does Vegas "see" the scanner? If it does, I'd think your setup was OK. Is anything else running at the same time - anything that might cause an irq conflict? (Some gear may share irqs, and it works OK until they try to use the same irq at the same time.)
I'm not really into this field, but I'm throwing in some clever questions in the the hope that eventually you'll get better replies than just recommendations for different scanners. Which is not what you asked for.

Thanks to everyone. I going to look for a new toy (as suggested) to go with my Vegas and maybe i will be able to scan with ease. Yes TorS it is great to scan in from the time line with the media pool scanner.
Thanks again.
