SCC files are read - but always 0 bytes

Using Off air MPG2 files from UK DTT - we cannot get caption contents. the files are read (very slowly!) but always zero bytes. This is a typical source file:

http://usp.net/~transfer/Weatherview (08-Oct-2012 01.35).emcast

We can live without this feature - but the time taken to read an empty file is awesome - and we would like to switch off Vegas effort to read it and save that time.

Ideas anyone?

You can turn off Caption retreival in the "Special" Preferences menu.

Try this:

Hold down Control+Shift+Options / Preferences

On the Internal tab, enter closed into the "Show only prefs containing" box at the bottom.

Change the "Enable scanning for closed caption" option to FALSE.

Close and restart Vegas Pro.

Perfect thanks -

I asked this question 3 times as a question to Sony support - and they completely failed to understand - I hope EricD reads this and takes note for future reference....
